İnönü in Malatya

CHP President delivered his first address before the deputy elections of October 10, 1965 in his hometown Malatya. The 81 year-old opposition leader arrived in Malatya with his wife Mevhibe İnönü on September 20th and extended his stay after the meeting was over.

Back in his hometown after many years, İnönü sought the support of Malatya locals in his speech to maintain peace and harmony across the nation. İnönü continued his speech as follows: “In what little is left of my life, my only ideal is to make sure that the bright days ahead, which will bring progress to my country, are set on strong and unshakable foundations.”
